
Why are self-cleaning nozzles needed?
During the MIG welding process, it is the job of the weld nozzle to direct the flow of the shielding gas in order that the shielding gas can protect the weld puddle from the atmosphere and contaminants. Spatter easily sticks to an "ordinary" nozzle--and that spatter prevents proper flow of the shielding gas. A PerfectArcs™ self-cleaning nozzle permits the shielding gas to flow properly so it can do its job of insuring proper [clean] welds.

Do self-cleaning nozzles cost more than "ordinary" nozzles?
"Yes". And "No". As you might expect, the cost of one self-cleaning nozzle is higher than the cost of one ordinary nozzle. However, since self-cleaning nozzles last many times longer than ordinary nozzles [up to 20 times longer], the total annual cost for self-cleaning nozzles is typically one-half to one-fifth of the cost of ordinary nozzles. Additionally, since self-cleaning nozzles considerably reduce downtime by decreasing the amount of time the welder must clean/change nozzles, the use of PerfectArcs self-cleaning nozzles often adds back much more to the bottom line than their costs--literally making the PefectArcs nozzles "free".
Do you manufacture the actual nozzles themselves?
At PerfectArcs, we do not manufacture weld nozzles. Instead, we receive ordinary nozzles from end-users and nozzle manufacturers. We then transform those ordinary nozzles into long-life self-cleaning nozzles.
Can self-cleaning nozzles be used in both manual and robotic weld operations?
Yes. We can turn nearly any weld nozzle you may be using today--including tandem and other specialized nozzles--into PerfectArcs nozzles.
